It is with great enthusiasm that St. Dominic Savio is putting forth another effort to reduce our carbon footprint and create another initiative that we, as a community can be proud of. As of November 1st, St. Dominic Savio Elementary School will be going PLASTIC CUTLERY FREE!” As part of our ECO Team Initiatives and to support sustainable environments, we will not be offering any plastic cutlery including plastic spoons and forks from the office. Please ensure that your child has reusable cutlery in their lunch to use if need be. This is a small change that can have a big impact. We thank you in advance for your support!
As well, we have a new member to our school – Dominic The Recycling Dragon. Please bring your used and/or broken school tools including pencils, pencil crayons and rulers to fill Doienic’s belly! These items will be re-used in new ways! Dominic will be with us all year long! The ECO Team thanks you in advance for helping to save the Earth and help create sustainability!
These initiatives along with so many others are something, as a community that we should all be proud of. Other charities and organizations we have contributed to over the past year are:
Raising $1,000 for each of the following organizations through Mission Day:
**St. Vincent de Paul
**David Suzuki Foundation
**Free the Children
As well as raising $4,000 for the above charities in June 2018, the Thanksgiving Food Drive raised 717 pounds of food; which is a record for St. Dominic Savio!
Thank you again for your continued support and contributions we are so greatly appreciative.
