We partnered with COBS Bread in December and our St. Dominic’s families have already spent $1428.00 so far and our school receives $142.80 of this, way to go Dragon families!

How it works – Before you pay for your transaction, let the cashier know your child(ren) attends St. Dominic’s Savio, it’s that simple!  Your total will be added to our schools “tab” and in June the school will receive 10% of that total back which can be utilized to fund different programs/initiatives within the school.

Spring Portraits Tomorrow – Sibling Photography Optional

Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 is Spring Portraits. Forms went home with your child before March Break.  If you are interested in having your children participate in Sibling Photos, please indicate on the back of the form the names and teachers of each child.  Proofs will be sent home with students a couple weeks following Picture Day and then you can review and purchase online or via cheque.

Nice Weather – Extra Clothes and Indoor/Outdoor Shoes Required

With the nice weather upon us and spring around the corner, the school yard is going to start melting.  With the spring thaw happening the outside will become wet and mucky.  Our hope is that all children benefit from the nice weather, but we also realize that shoes, pants and other items will become wet.  As to not disrupt parents at work or during the school hours we ask that ALL children (kindergarten to grade 8) pack an extra pair of pants and socks in their backpacks and keep them in that backpack until the end of the year.

Shrove Tuesday – Pancake Day Information

We wish to commence the Lenten season by demonstrating community, responsible leadership and service on Shrove Tuesday by preparing Pancakes for the school. Pancakes will be served with syrup. Each class will be invited into the gym, where students will be served at different times of the day. The pancakes are a “treat” not a lunch replacement. Students who bring a lunch to school need to bring a lunch on this day as well. If your child has an allergy to pancake mix and syrup, please be sure to inform their classroom teacher to make alternate arrangements.

We are asking all students to please bring in a PLATE and UTENSILS for their pancakes. By reducing the amount of garbage, we can continue to be stewards of the environment. Please put your plate and utensils in a Ziploc!

This year we will be offering  GLUTEN FREE/DAIRY FREE PANCAKES.  A parent volunteer has offered to make these yummy treats.  These pancakes will be served in the Library as to not cross contaminate.  If you are interested in your child having this option please email Jennifer MacKay at jennifer.mackay@wcdsb.ca so that we are able to prepare the appropriate numbers.  This graphic below is the pancake mix that we will be using:
