Monthly Archives: February 2019

Supporting of our Free the Children pillar of Health in Sierra Leon.
St. Domini Savio has always supported efforts to help individuals who are in need within our community and around the world.
In February, the school will be raising money for our Social Justice affiliate organization of “Free the Children” – Health of People in West Africa.
To raise these funds the school will be hosting a “Bake Sale and Cake Raffle” – which will take place, tomorrow, Thursday, February 28th in the front foyer of St. Dominic Savio School.
To make this a success we are asking for donations of any sweet food items (e.g. cookies, cupcakes, candy, chocolate…) and full cakes for the raffle.  IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DONATE, PLEASE BRING ITEMS TO THE SCHOOL FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH, 2019.   *** Please remember that any food brought into the school should not have any nuts due to allergies.
So if you have a sweet tooth and would like to purchase some yummy goodies to support a good cause, please bring in money to purchase these items.
Thank you for your support in advance.

False Fire Alarm

False Fire Alarm

Today at around 3:20pm we had a false fire alarm.

We followed our standard safety protocol and evacuated the school. The Fire Department responded quickly

so we were able to bring all students in safely and in a timely manner.

We will be investigating this situation further.

Thank you.

Lunch Hour Supervisor Needed

We are currently in need of a Lunch Hour Supervisor here at St. Dominic Savio. Working 1 hour per day, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising students in the classroom while they eat and outside on the yard during lunch hour recess. Weekly Dragon Update Feb 19 – 22

February 18- February 22

Dance a Thon was a great event that was enjoyed by both students and staff alike. Thanks goes out to all who supported our fundraiser, but especially to those parents who gave of their time to sell some glow bracelets and necklaces, and a special shout out to the Student Council! Your energy and leadership were on full display on Thursday! School Council will be updating us on our fundraising results in the next little while. Stay Tuned!

February Umbrella Theme

We continue to explore the Umbrella themes each month and students are starting to build their own personal umbrellas – being able to use various strategies to help them deal with struggles they may face in their lives.  Throughout the month of February, we will be exploring the theme of Mindfulness. Take a minute to read the attached article that can be found at the link below. It has some great activities for your children around Mindfulness.

Math Matters! Can you solve this?
