80’s Day a SUCCESS!

We sure love to have fun at St. Dominic’s and our staff like to lead the charge!  80’s day was a great success with many staff and students participating by dressing up is great 80’s style!

Spring Fundraiser

Our Spring Fundraiser is in full gear!  We are selling Stemmler’s Pepperettes and all orders must be in by Friday May 11th – there are no late orders.  All monies raised goes back into our St. Dominic community. If you need another order form, please contact the main office.  Thank you for your support!

ECO Schools Certification

St. Dominic has recently completed the reporting required to become an ECO certified school.  This means that we support and acknowledge that environmental learning and action is part of what we will continue to do every day at St. DOminic’s.  Our goal is to receive Bronze certification! The results will come out in late June after a monitoring visit. We will keep you posted!

Grade 5 Intensive French – Enrollment Full

Thank you to all Grade 4 Parents/Guardians for showing interest in our Grade 5 Intensive French Program for the 2018/2019 school year.
As of today, April 26th, 2018 the enrollment for this program is full and has now been capped.

Cash Online – Stemmler’s Meats – Spring Fundraiser

We experienced some technical difficulties with the Stemmler’s Meats Fundraiser on Cash Online.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  However, this issue has been resolved.  Please feel free to order your Stemmler’s Meats through Cash Online up until Friday, May 11th, 2018.

Student of Month Lunch for February/March

It is with great enthusiasm we congratulate many students at St. Dominic Savio on a job well done!

To celebrate, St. Dominic Savio will be holding a pizza lunch on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018.
This lunch will be a pepperoni &/or cheese pizza from Gino’s Pizza.

The winners for February demonstrated the virtue of “LOVE” and for March the virtue of “EMBRACING THE CROSS”, in their daily interactions. Thank you to all Students for setting a great example.

Grade 5 Intensive French Meeting TONIGHT, MONDAY, APRIL 23rd, 2018

It’s time to sign up for INTENSIVE FRENCH!
Intensive French is offered to Grade 4 students going into Grade 5 at St. Dominic Savio.  The program is open to all Grade 5 students, of all proficiency levels, attending an Intensive French school.  At St. Dominic Savio we offer this program on a “first come, first served” basis.  We encourage all parents to come to the Information Session tonight, to receive the sign up form.  The deadline for this form to be received back to the office is Monday, April 30th, 2018.

Earth Week

We had a great Earth Week Celebration!  Students participated in many activities focussed on cleaning and caring for our environment.  Due to the snow still being on the ground, we will be moving our Yard Clean Up day to another time.  Stay tuned for more details!

Multi-Year Strategic Plan Survey

The WCDSB Multi Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) 2015-2018 was approved by the Board of Trustees in December 2015.

We are currently in the process of gathering input to assist both with an updated evaluation of the current MYSP and to help lay the foundation for the creation of our new MYSP. We are inviting all staff, students, parents and community members to complete the MYSP Survey (one per family). Your input is valued and appreciated.

REMINDERS: Earth Day, Pizza Day, Lifetouch Pictures

Tomorrow, Friday, April 20th, 2018 is Earth Day.  To celebrate St. Dominic Dragons are encouraged to wear blue and green to represent the earth; bring litterless lunches, hand in the coloring contest pictures and power down between the hours of 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
Tomorrow, Friday, April 20th, 2018 is the rescheduled PIZZA Day for all student who purchased pizza for Monday, April 16th.  If you didn’t have an opportunity to purchase pizza for your child, for Monday, April 16th, please send in money tomorrow and we can make accommodations.  Each slice (cheese or pepperoni) is $1.75.
If you have not yet ordered your Spring Siblings photos and you would like to, please return the order form and money to the school by tomorrow, Friday, April 20th, 2018.


SPRING FUNDRAISER starts Monday, April 23rd

We are excited to announce the launch of our Spring Fundraiser! Beginning Monday, April 23, 2018 until Friday, May 11, 2018 the students and staff of the St. Dominic School community will be offering Pepperstix and Summer Sausage Chubb from Stemmler’s Meats & Cheese in Heidelberg as our spring fundraiser. Stemmler’s high quality meats come from our local community of farming families. All pepperstix are Gluten, Lactose, Dairy and MSG free. Facts and nutrition content are available at  Pledge forms will go home tomorrow, Friday, April 20th and Cash Online will be open for pledges, Monday, April 23rd, 2018.

All the profit raised will go directly to our St. Dominic students by enriching their learning environment by supporting school improvement projects and student activities.

We are offering the following:

On Monday April 23rd, 2018, each student will bring home an order sheet to keep track of customers and payment. Customers who are supporting our fundraisers must pay up front first or by SCHOOL CASH ONLINE. ( If you are using Cash-On-Line to pay for your order, please remember to return the order form to your child’s classroom teacher. Order forms can be returned starting on Wednesday, May 9th. We would ask that all Cash On-Line payments are made and final order forms and money are returned to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday May 11th, 2018.  Cheques will not be accepted.

Orders will be available for pick up on Tuesday May 22, 2018 between 3:45pm and 6pm. If you would like your child to take the order home, please indicate on the order form. Pepperstix and Summer Sausage Chubb must be refrigerated and orders must be picked up promptly.

Dates Rescheduled Due to Inclement Weather: Pizza Day and Intensive French Meeting

If you purchased pizza for your child for Monday, April 16th, 2018, this Pizza Day will now be held on FRIDAY, APRIL 20th.
