TONIGHT: Please join us for the “Understanding & Helping Children with Big Feelings” Presentation
St. Dominic Savio welcomes all parents and caregivers to
“Understanding & Helping Children with Big Feelings” by Farrah Hemani, ECE RP (Q)
This is a free evening for caregivers of children of all ages to gain a deeper understanding of their children’s behaviour and feelings, as well as some guidance and tools for how to help their children. There will be a presentation followed by an opportunity to ask questions both in the group or privately. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
We recommend attending without your children; however, if you do not have access at home to childcare, we will have parent volunteers to supervise them in a separate room. Light snacks will be provided for children and you are welcome to send them with a nut free snack/meal as well.
When: Thursday, April 27th, 6p.m. – 8p.m.
Where: St. Dominic Savio Catholic Elementary School, 3 Westforest Trail, Kitchener.

About Farrah: Farrah has over 15 years of experience working with children in various settings. She is a registered early childhood educator with a specialization in special needs. She is trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist from CICAPP and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Q).
Farrah is trained in facilitating Handle With Care and Make The Connection programs that focus on children’s mental health and development. She has additional foundation training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Basics of Therapeutic Conversation with children, Solution Focused Training and 2SLGBTQIA Inclusivity Training.
Farrah has extensive experience working with diverse families and helping them understand their child’s thoughts and feelings. Farrah supports caregivers in creating an environment to support children’s mental health. She provides concrete strategies and tools to manage difficult situations and strengthen the bond between parent and child. This relationship is the foundation to a healthy family and to a healthy community.
